Hawk
What the tradition holds
Read as perspective: the long view, the thing you can see from height that you cannot see from the road.
Where that reading came from
A red tailed hawk hunts from a perch or a thermal and can see a mouse move from a hundred metres up. The symbol is the eyesight, more or less literally.
Hawks sit on highway poles because that is where the mice are. Noticing them often begins the week you start driving somewhere new.
