Hexagram 16: Enthusiasm

Thunder (the storm arriving) over Earth (the field)

Movement that carries people with it, and the warning attached is that enthusiasm follows the mood of the person leading it. It gathers fast and it disperses fast.

1. Line 1Enthusiasm that announces itself. Misfortune, and it is early.
2. Line 2Firm as a rock, and not for a whole day. Recognising the turn before it turns.
3. Line 3Looking up and waiting for it from above. Remorse, and hesitation makes it worse.
4. Line 4The source of it. Great things come; do not doubt, friends gather.
5. Line 5Persistently ill and never dying. Chronic, and survivable.
6. Line 6Deluded enthusiasm. If it changes after it has begun, no blame.
