Squirrel
What the tradition holds
Read as preparation and as the sensible storing of what you have, with a warning about hoarding past the point of use.
Where that reading came from
Squirrels cache thousands of nuts and recover a good share of them by memory and smell. The ones they forget become trees.
Squirrel activity peaks in autumn for reasons that have nothing to do with you. The reading still lands if you are the one deciding what to store.
